aSecondSystem CMS Version 1
The new CMS has been built over the last 12 months to provide a robust, powerful content management platform. It primarily focuses on delivering a CMS that imposes no restrictions on design and enabling a competent developer to focus on building the site to the clients requirements and designers dream. not the CMS manufacturers preconceptions.
The admin area of the CMS starts with a dashboard displaying system data including the integrated google Analytics data.
The admin area consists of Content, Information and site text. Site text hold simple text snippets for use within the site layout. Information holds configurable information types such as country lists, product information and FAQ’s. Content holds the main page type content.
Each Content or Information type can have as many fields of whatever type is necessary to create the page required. Built in data types include a full WYSIWYG editor, ajax image selectors, related information ajax selectors with ordering capabilities and more.

Although the CMS is simply styled it has some sophisticated features already. Pages and information items can be ordered wherever the dotted grab handles are shown in the listings, and the media management area allows for multiple image and file uploads.

The whole of the admin area follows a consistent, simple, easy to use pattern that makes editing complex sites easy for non technical staff. Under the hood the sites page views and data access are cached, increasing speed and reducing server load. A two step template system allows complete control over the layout per page type, reducing developer stress and increasing designer satisfaction.

The site also allows for image and media management bringing Paula’s music to your browser with all the background information presented.
The site CMS was built using Zend Framework providing page editing with a WYSIWYG editor, media management, order-able hierarchical drag-and-drop menu management and a template system. JQuery provides the drop down menus smooth transitions & the dynamic gallery. The flash MP3 player provides a nice simple audio player inserted right into the copy within the WYSIWYG editor.
